Mountain Ranges
  Due to the Western Sierra Madre crossing through the state from South to North, the irregularity of its relief gives rise to a complex group of ranges and hills throughout the state. Among them are the Arteaga, Snata Maria, Zapalinamé, Patos, Jimulco, La Madera, Los Alamitos and the San Marcos Ranges.
   
Bodies of water
  The state is made up of four watershed regions: The Rios Bravo, Mapimi, , Nazas-Aguanaval and Salado rivers.. Of them the Rio Bravo, originating in the United States and 740 kilometers (460 miles) long, is the most important. As well, a large number of underground rivers proliferate and give rise to springs and wells.
 
Weather
  The state of Coahuila is located in a desert area. The climate is generally dry and warm in the low lands and moderated in the highest levels. In the region of the southeast the climate is warm in spring and summer, the rainy station is in July and August, in winter the temperature is cold. In the Laguna region the weather is warm in spring and summer, warm and dry in the autumn and with the pleasant winters. In the Central and the carboniferous region, the weather is warm in spring and the temperature in summer is very high. In summer there are rains that can be intense. The winters are cold. In the north region, the climate is warm in spring and summer and cold in winter, with the rains in the region in July and August.
