In Coahuila, the State plays a very important roll in education, considering it as the cornerstone to a healthy and prosperous economic development.
Public higher education in Coahuila is among the best in the country. Thousands of well prepared youngsters graduate from state universities every year. Between 2004-2005, 42,735 students graduated from higher education institutes. This amount of graduate students makes Coahuila Mexico’s first state in percentage of population with a college degree.

The State’s degree of involvement in education, since the early years of elementary school to the universities research centers is very high. A good example of the efficiency of State education is the elementary school English program, which is a model program throughout Mexico.
