Coahuila is a State of great economic activity, hard work and a great sense of dynamism. The regions of Coahuila are well known for achieving consolidation in their own and diverse economic roads to success.
The Southeast region is based on automotive and metal-mechanic industries, one out of every three automobiles in Mexico are made here.

On the other hand, the Laguna Region became a great textile and food producer and more recently, is now specializing in services and commerce. The metal-mechanic industry is also a very strong part of this regions economy.

In the Carboniferous region, the mining industry is the main economic branch, practically all of Mexico’s coal comes from here. The region also hosts one of the largest and strongest metallurgic industry in all of Mexico.


Finally, in the Northern and Central regions, the automotive industry is very well consolidated, and there is a growing manufacturing and textile industry that offers great quality products.
In order to promote all of these economic activities, as well as develop them, the State Government trusts the Economic Development Department the mission of planning, promoting, regulating and developing the economic activities in the State. Including the areas of mining, commerce and services with the purpose of attracting foreign and domestic investors, the quality of life and our population level.

With the State’s support, the private sector manages economic promotional organisms in the Northern, Central, Carboniferous and Laguna regions. These organisms help in the promotion of investments and the reactivation of economic activities throughout the regions.
Because we want Coahuila to grow economically, and our people to increase their standard of living, our job is to focus in the promotion of investments of foreign and domestic capitals by having business oriented policies that facilitate the formation, installation and operation of businesses for investors everywhere. We want investors to do business and grow in Coahuila in a calm strike-free State, with a diversified and strong economy.
